Progressive Education School

Human society is drastically changing with the change caused by technology and artificial intelligence (AI). In the next decade (AI) will influence almost every aspect of human actions and decisions. Unfortunately, education has and continues to remain static as human society is unable to comprehend in what aspect should education be provided and to what purpose. This is especially so in India. Since Progressive Education was established in 1997, we have tried to understand and adapt to this changing world and its needs and have further tried to upgrade and adapt to the changes required every year to do so. It is therefore necessary that education cannot be rigid and inflexible but has become so primarily because of textbook teaching, the examination system and the incompetence of the teaching fraternity. It is our continuous effort to find solutions to the shortcomings and anticipate the child future environment.

The difference of Progressive School Indore

Here we follow our concept of school education since 1997 which is “Do not teach the children what to learn but rather teach the child how to learn” This can be considered a derivative of what eminent anthropologist Late Margaret Mead had stated, “Children must be taught how to think, not what to think”. Parents therefore need to be clear as to for what need is there to be educated. Primarily this is for financial survival and therefore they need to comprehend the earning environment which their child will face when their child finishes a school. This anticipated environment will be entirely influenced by the use of AI and the humans should have the skill to not only be able to utilize AI effectively in any kind of job environment but also have the skill to regulate and control it effectively and efficiently. This requires the appropriate form of training of the mind since childhood and currently is not being provided due to the above stated shortcomings in the educational system in our country. Very few institutions are available or are attempting, with some degree of success, the required system for the future of the child and that to for our massive population of the country. One of these institutions is Progressive School Indore.

CISCE Affiliation
For the lack of anything better Progressive School is affiliated with the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination CISCE. In practice affiliation is required for the school participating in the standardised format of board examination of Class X and XII. Besides this currently there is really no educational difference between the various Boards of education available in India. A vision of education was published via the National Education Policy 2020 which we had largely incorporated in our system since 1997. This vision is likely to remain so on paper since the system and human resources providing education presently and in the forcible future do not have skill to implement.

Campus
Currently Progressive School operates through an 11 Acre Elevated Campus on the east side of Indore and through 5 Acres of campus on the west side of the city. We are very involved with keeping the world green and providing the children healthy pollution free environment.

What Is Education
Every parent has a belief for what purpose their child is being educated. In almost all cases education is for material gain by the child as an adult but may not provide happiness. At Progressive School we are clear that the education be given will allow the child to earn adequately because it has imbibed the life skills necessary to do so.
